Pumpkin Fest

Pumpkin Fest

This summer I had the chance to film something truly special at Smith Lake Farm in Black Creek—the very first Champs Vs Chumps event held there! 🌲🥏 This wasn’t your typical disc golf tournament—it was a full-day celebration of the sport. The morning kicked off with seminars and workshops led by some of the best in the game, including Canadian pros Sofia Donnecke and Thomas Gilbert, with none other than disc golf legend Nate Sexton hosting. Fans and players had the rare chance to learn from the pros, then hit the course for a hilarious and exciting round of Champs Vs Chumps, where locals teamed up to challenge the professionals.

What stood out most to me, beyond the great shots and big throws, was the community spirit. Everyone I met was welcoming, passionate, and just genuinely fun to be around. Whether it was laughing through an errant putt, swapping stories over good food, or lining up to get discs signed, the energy was all about connection and love for the game. Vancouver Island disc golfers really are something else—their kindness and enthusiasm made this event one to remember. 💚

From a filming perspective, it was a wild ride! I was sprinting across the massive course, juggling gimbal shots, drone passes, and intimate handheld moments, trying to keep up with the action. By the end of the day I was a sweaty beast, but I loved every second of it. Capturing the beauty of Smith Lake Farm and the excitement of the players is exactly why I love doing Vancouver Island videography. This was more than just an event—it was a story about passion, community, and the joy of disc golf, and I’m grateful I got to be behind the camera for it. 🎥✨
