As a kid in the 90s, I was obsessed with drawing 🎨—especially comic book heroes like the X-Men and all things Marvel 💥. I’d watch movies and sketch for hours, totally in the zone. That love for storytelling through art? It’s what pulled me into video 🎬.
So when I sat down with the amazing Nicola North, a Comox Valley artist, to chat about her brand story, we instantly clicked. We both fell in love with art early—and never stopped chasing that creative spark ✨.
For this project, I got to blend all the things I love: storytelling, filming outdoors on Vancouver Island 🌲, and capturing a talented local artist in her element. The video opens with my daughter Rosie playing a young Nicola, drawing with that same wonder.
This one’s a special one. I hope it captures what it feels like to be an artist on Vancouver Island—bringing imagination to life, one frame at a time 💛📹.
